Fort Wonder is seeking qualified applicants to join our 2020 team! If you are passionate about education, have an infectious summer spirit, and are interested in creating a summer full of memories for our campers (and yourself), we want to hear from you!

AVAILABLE POSITIONS

LEAD CAMP COUNSELORS

  • Responsible for the daily management of a single group of campers in a specific age group.

  • Provide campers with physical safety and emotional support to create a positive camp experience.

  • Lead campers through their daily activities.

  • Directly supervises Assistant Camp Counselors.

  • Communicates directly with parents of campers in their group as needed.

  • Commitment to full Day Camp schedule required (June 10 - August 2, no camp July 1 - 5); additional weeks assisting Specialty Camps available to those who are interested.

 

Minimum Qualifications: Candidates must be high school graduates with demonstrated experience managing groups of children. Must pass criminal background check, pre-employment drug screen, and have positive verification of references.  

Physical Demands: Lead Camp Counselors must be able to push, pull, carry, and lift up to 50 pounds, and will spend significant portions of the day walking or standing. Lead Camp Counselors are subject to outside environmental conditions. 

ASSISTANT CAMP COUNSELORS

  • Assist Lead Camp Counselors in managing a specific group of campers.

  • Provide campers with physical safety and emotional support to create a positive camp experience.

  • Assist Camp Administrator with camp operations.

  • Commitment of at least four camp weeks required. 

Minimum Qualifications: Candidates must be at least 16 years of age with demonstrated experience working with children.  Must pass criminal background check and have positive verification of references.  

Physical Demands: Assistant Camp Counselors must be able to push, pull, carry, and lift up to 50 pounds, and will spend significant portions of the day walking or standing. Assistant Camp Counselors are subject to outside environmental conditions.
