AVAILABLE POSITIONS

CAMP ADMINISTRATORS

  • Assist the Fort Wonder Site Director in delivering exceptional summer camp program experiences for our campers, their families, and our camp staff.

  • Provide support to Day Camps and Specialty Camps staff.

  • Assist with execution of daily drop-off and pick-up procedures.

  • Facilitate communication with camp families.

  • Generate and distribute daily/weekly camper reports to camp staff.

  • Assist with the oversight of camper lunch periods.

  • Lead camp operations, including preparation and distribution of camp supplies.

  • Assist with content generation for Fort Wonder social media accounts.

  • Commitment to full summer schedule required (May 31 - August 5, with no camp on June 20 and July 4 - 8).

  • Working hours are 7:30 AM - 4 PM, Monday through Friday, with a 30-minute lunch break daily.

  • Pay Range: Starting at $15 per hour

 

Minimum Qualifications: Candidates must be high school graduates with at least one year of demonstrated experience managing groups of children and at least one year of leadership experience in a summer camp setting. Must pass criminal background check, pre-employment drug screen, and have positive verification of references.  

Physical Demands: Lead Camp Counselors must be able to push, pull, carry, and lift up to 50 pounds, and will spend significant portions of the day walking or standing. Lead Camp Counselors are subject to outside environmental conditions. 

CAMP COUNSELORS

  • Responsible for the daily management of a single group of campers in a specific age group.

  • Provide campers with physical safety and emotional support to create a positive camp experience.

  • Lead campers through their daily activities.

  • Oversee Assistant Camp Counselors in the execution of camp curriculum.

  • Communicates directly with parents of campers in their group as needed.

  • Commitment to full Signature Camp schedule required (June 13 - July 29, with no camp on June 20 and July 4 - 8); additional weeks assisting Specialty Camps available to those who are interested.

  • Must be able to attend paid training for the week of June 6 - 10.

  • Working hours are 8 AM - 4 PM, Monday through Friday, with a 30-minute lunch break daily. Additional Extended Care hours may be available (but not required).

  • Pay Range: Starting at $15 per hour
