CAMP FAQs

What should my camper bring and wear to Winter Wonder Games?

Campers should bring a nut-free snack, a nut-free lunch, and refillable water bottle to camp each day. Campers are strongly encouraged to wear sunscreen to camp and are welcome to bring additional sunscreen for reapplication throughout the day. Please make sure you label everything with your camper’s name! Campers should dress in attire that is comfortable and suitable for a wide variety of activities. Closed-toe shoes are recommended for all campers.

What is the deadline for registration?

Pending availability, you can register for Winter Wonder Games until 6 PM on December 12. Registrations after the December 12 deadline are subject to a $50 late registration fee. Please contact our camp office via telephone (817.302.3271) or email (info@fortwondercamps.org) to inquire about late registration availability for a particular camp. Unfortunately, in the interest of keeping campers safe and due to camp logistics, we are not able to accept same-day on-site registrations.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellation requests that are submitted in writing by December 1, 2022, are eligible for a full tuition refund minus a $50 cancellation fee per camp enrollment. Tuition is nonrefundable after December 1, 2022. Extended Care fees are non-refundable. Camp fees cannot be refunded or prorated for missed days, including unexpected absences.

Is financial aid available?

At this time, financial aid is not available for Winter Wonder Games.

Where do I drop-off my camper?

Our camper drop-off car line is located at the front of the Lower School Building at FWCD; signs on campus will help direct you to the exact location.

In the interest of safety and for logistical considerations, camp families are encouraged to utilize our car line drop-off procedure, where campers are escorted by staff members from your car into camp, saving you time and expediting the drop-off procedure for everyone.

For families with campers who need some extra time getting out of the car and/or for campers who are a little anxious about coming to camp, families are welcome to park their car in the Kindergarten Lot and walk their campers into the Lower School Atrium for check-in.
Where do I pick-up my camper?
Camper pick-up is located in front of the Lower School Building. Guardians will be asked to show their pick-up pass, and Fort Wonder Staff will then escort campers to their respective cars.
If guardians would rather park and pick-up their campers, they are welcome to park in the Kindergarten Lot and bring their pick-up pass to our walk-up station to complete the camper check-out procedure.
Who do I contact for a late drop-off or early pick-up?
If you anticipate arriving more than 15 minutes after the start of your camp or if you need to arrange an early pick-up of your camper, please contact Fort Wonder via telephone (817.302.3271) so that we can arrange for a Fort Wonder staff member to check in your camper and escort them to their appropriate camp location.

What do I do if I need to pick up my camper early?
To arrange for an early pick-up, please call 817.302.3271. A Fort Wonder staff member will escort your camper from their camp activity to the car line location in front of the Lower School Building at your preferred pick-up time.

What happens if I am late picking up my camper?
Campers who have still not been picked up 15-minutes after the conclusion of their camp session will automatically be enrolled in Extended Care, and their account will be charged the single-day drop-in Extended Care fee ($25/day).
Is Extended Care available?
Extended Care is available as an add-on purchase when registering for Winter Wonder Games. Simply add your preferred Extended Care options when completing your online registration. If you decide that you would like to add Extended Care after you have already completed your camp registration, simply call our office (817.302.3271), and we will complete your Extended Care registration over the phone.
Morning Extended Care begins at 7:45 a.m., and Afternoon Extended Care is available until 6:00 p.m. each day. Morning Extended Care costs $16 per day, and Afternoon Extended Care costs $25 per day.
Is lunch provided by Fort Wonder?
Due to the wide range of dietary restrictions of our campers, lunch is not provided by Fort Wonder Summer Camps. Campers should bring their own daily lunch (and a morning snack) in a disposable or reusable bag, with their name clearly marked on their lunch container. We ask our campers and staff to not pack peanut butter or any nut products in their lunches or snacks. Please check all food labels to be sure that they do not say, “contains peanuts” or “may contain peanuts” before sending them to camp with your camper. During the pre-lunch hours, camper lunches are kept in an air-conditioned space (please note, refrigeration and microwaves are not available for camper lunches).
